Girls With Guts teams up with Groupon Grassroots!
We are so excited to annouce our biggest fundraising event to date! Girls With Guts has partnered with Groupon Grassroots, which is the philanthropic arm of Groupon. Grassroots is helping us to fund a new program we've been wanting to implement for a while but we just haven't had the funds. This is our chance!!
Surgery is no fun. Recovery from surgery is even less than a picnic. We (Charis and Jackie) have had a total of 15 bowel related surgeries. We both have had jpouches and ostomies and all of the complications that go along with both. We like to think we know a thing or two about jpouches and ostomies and the recovery from these types of surgeries. Enter the Butt Basket.
What's a Butt Basket? We've got two types of Butt Baskets, one for jpouchers and one for ostomates and in these "surgery survival kits" we'll be including tips on recovery, products to make the process go better, and a few things in there to make patients smile. We already have some really great products lined up to go in the baskets but of course we're always looking for the next best thing. Is there a product that has made all the difference in your life with a jpouch or an ostomy? Let us know in the comments!
The best part is that we are giving these away to people through our program. Obviously, we can't provide one for every surgery patient so we'll be devising a way to decide who they go to...but...this is where you come in. The more people who donate, the more people will be on the receiving end of a Butt Basket. Please head to our site and donate $10. Every $30 equals one basket!
Here is the only catch...we have to raise $300 before the campaign is officially on. This is our tipping point. $300 = 10 baskets. BUT! Here is the best part! We've got a company, Allied Vaughn who has agreed to match our tipping point! So that means $600 and 20 baskets!
Just 30 people is all we need to make this happen. We need 30 people to donate $10, and then we can give 20 people a gift that we both wish was available to us during our surgeries.
Thank you all in advance for all of your support, for buying our bracelets and for helping us grow!
